Six unsigned bands will take to the o2 Academy’s stage on Monday to battle it out for the chance to win The Pogues Irish Whiskey and Academy Events’ Shot At Discovery competition.
Guest judges Craig Jones Bristol Post’s entertainment reporter, producer Tom Dalgety who has worked with bands such as the Pixies and Royal Blood, and George Allen, manager for legendary gothic rockers The Mission are charged with the job of finding the UK’s next big rock band.
The winning band will go on to compete in next round at London’s O2 Academy Islington on 24th April 2017. The overall winning band will receive £3,000 towards band equipment, as well as recording, mixing and mastering with members of The Pogues as guest producers.
Syren City, The Belishas, IDestroy, The Marks Cartel, Constance and Cosmic Ninja are all hoping to represent Bristol in the final and go onto win the prize.
