Limited-run music magazine So Young are teaming up with Rough Trade Bristol to present a special free entry show this week, Wednesday 30th.
Their first collaboration brings South London five-piece, Hotel Lux to the store’s busy live space, with Honey Lung and Bristol’s Wytch Elm. Hotel Lux’s most recent single ‘Pulp’ channels The Fall, Ian Dury and Nick Cave, and shows a sway further from post-punk, toward the art-rock that forms the band’s core.
If the wordplay and zero fucks sound familiar, you’ll be unsurprised to learn that the boys – originally from Portsmouth – came up via the same vibrant scene as Shame and Goat Girl, both bands that’ve made significant impacts this year. Hotel Lux are sure to follow, making it tough to pass up the rare chance to catch them totally free.
