ALMA ‘To The Stars’ | Stream

Just as London-based ambient duo ALMA clock up their first anniversary, they’re set to commemorate it with the release of their self-titled debut mini album released via Fierce Panda Records on 14th August.

They are currently streaming the eerily beautiful and expansive ‘To The Stars’ – a new track from the release – that evokes post-rock luminaries Sigur Rós. Here, Pete Lambrou and fellow Codes in the Clouds bandmate Ciaran Morahan – armed with a loop station, multiple delay pedals, a piano and strings – create what has been described as “a slow-moving, high-flying soundscape of luscious gravitas.”

Named after the Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimetre Array – or, “a really bloody powerful telescope” in the band’s own words – makes sense when their music is so otherworldly.

ALMA will be playing select live dates in the lead up to the mini album’s release, including an album release show at London’s St Pancras Old Church.
