Topping just about every ‘best single’ list in last year’s blogosphere, Alvvays‘ ‘Archie, Marry Me’ was and still is catchier than your average top 20 tune. Catapulting them into the forefront of just about every indie pop fan around, this Canadian outfit produced an album packed full of simple yet addictive efforts that easily followed the hype that had so quickly surrounded them.

Touring the world gained them an even bigger following, with the audience in those smaller venues releasing they were lucky enough to witness the calm before the storm. Now they’re back on our shores - probably without a moment to breathe and take it all in - to round off the summer with a set full of the songs that got them noticed in the first place, Expect the kind of set that will make you throw your arms around your pals and sing your heart out; it might be tipping it down outside but Alvvays will always bring the sunshine.
