Legendary Bristol venue The Bierkeller has announced that it is closing its doors.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the venue stated that the owners of the building it is housed in have decided to redevelop the whole site, and that the venue is not in their plans.
The Bierkeller has a long and illustrious history, with legendary bands such as Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Pixies and The Arctic Monkeys all playing on its stage. It has been a Bristol staple for over 30 years, and its loss is yet another closure in a worrying trend.
The venue was also one of the larger Bristol spaces, and with the temporary closure of Colston Hall for redevelopment, it means that Bristol is left with a lack of larger venues.
The venue has asked for gig goers to put their favourite memories of the venue in their Facebook post, which you can find here.
