We talk to our favourite people about all things Bristol, from food to favourite bands. This month we have Matt Freemantle from SWX.

When did you first move to Bristol?
April this year, so I’m still basically a newbie.
What was the last gig you went to here?
A great local band called Rink at Crofters Rights who were supporting Elvis Depressedly. It was my first time seeing live music there and it didn’t disappoint. I did accidentally smash a pint glass by completely missing the table I was supposed to put it on. Don’t tell them that though.
Who’s your top Bristol band / artist at the moment?
Idles. I’ve been a fan for years now and it’s great to see them finally getting some recognition. Their latest releases ‘Well Done’ and ‘Divide & Conquer’ are both utterly brilliant. Visceral, in your face post-punk loudness, but done with a wry smile and a sense of humour.
How would you describe the music scene here?
From what I’ve seen so far, I love it. Always so much going on, and a real diversity of acts playing here on a regular basis. Now summer is over I can’t wait to get out and see some more gigs.
What’s your favourite thing about the city?
The people, everyone here is so friendly. I moved from London and it’s a breath of fresh air here; quite literally. That, and the cider.
And your least favourite?
Yet to find a least favourite thing, maybe the traffic? That’s pretty bad.
Where are the best eats around town?
I had a ‘Level 4 Spicy’ dish from Chilli Daddy in St Nicks Market recently which was amazing and nearly blew my head off – in a good way. My guilty pleasure is Ritas Kebabs in Stokes Croft, what a place.
