Now it’s even easier to drop a sic’ set at your monthly post-ironic disco, friend’s birthday party, or school fete.
Luckily for you, or perhaps unluckily, digital music streaming wizards Spotify have now added gapless playback and crossfade features to their ever-popular application.
You can tweak this crossfade from a mere second, to a mega ibiza classics twelve between your meticulously chosen tracks. Basically: no more annoying pauses between playlist or album tracks to expose the fact that you are in fact not a real disc jockey.
Spotify spokes-swede Gustav Söderström had a bunch stuff to say on the update, but this included the phrase “It’s time to get the party started”, so I kind of zoned out. I like to imagine him sounding like that chef from The Muppets.
If you’re a geek like me and have been following this issue on Get Satisfaction, you’ll know that people have been moaning about it for a long, long time. So, plenty of happy playlister-DJs, but have they unleashed all hell on our collective nightlives?
Anyway, it’s automatically rolling out to all users as we speak, and those of you who just can’t wait a second longer can install the update manually by hitting up the links below:
Sweet set, bro.
