Aptly named EP ‘Etherealism’ is the work of Bristol-based solo artist Emlyn who, at nineteen, has already drawn attention from BBC Introducing and more. Taking clear leads from the likes of Daughter and The xx, this — his first release — is an otherworldly combination of ambient guitars, synths and, yes, ethereal vocal melodies; ones that relinquish you of earthly worries and fly you to a new dimension.

Emlyn’s lyrics are abstract, with a poetic texture designed to enrapture all the senses. These humble four tracks flow together by way of echoing arrangements that pull the listener through a series of surreal scenes that make ‘Etherealism’ the perfect end-of-day, headphones-on escape.
