Kayla Painter is known for her innovative live performances and fans will be pleased to know that she’s been working on something special with long-time collaborator Jason Baker. Following her acclaimed performances at Glastonbury Festival and Simple Things Festival, Painter and Baker are now presenting an all-new audio-visual project that has been in process for the past six months.
Taking inspiration from Baker’s trip to Hong Kong and Painter’s ongoing interest in future technology, the project aims to act as a compliment to Painter’s musical output, presenting the kind of live show that will delight all the senses.
“The new show delves head first into an exploration of a virtual reality, and works with the dialogue between natural elements, textures and artificial intelligence,” Painter said of the new project. “Expect to see the laws of physics bend and morph, to be taken on a sonic journey of light and dark, to be immersed in a world you can’t quite imagine, and then to be left questioning what exactly you have just experienced.”
The show isn’t getting rolled out just yet but you can watch an exclusive teaser of Painter and Baker’s work in the video below. In the meantime, you can catch Painter live across Bristol in June:
