27 – 28 May | Eastville Park

For two days a year Eastville park is transformed into a sparkling, musical paradise showcasing some of the best live and underground artists from all over the world. Love Saves the Day is a sign summer has begun in Bristol and if last year’s event is anything to go by, blue skies and sunny weather is all we can hope for.

When LSTD launched in 2012 it took place at the historical Castle park (much to the local residents dismay). Following several complaints and the need for a bigger space organisers decided to make the move to a more substantial location and so it was decided that Eastville Park would be LSTD’s new home. In just 5 years, LSTD has built itself a solid reputation as one of the best inner city festivals in the UK, paving the way for other similar events that now take place all across the country. From Dizzee Rascal who headlined on Sunday last year to SBTRKT who headlined back when the festival was still in Castle Park, the variety of artists is always second to none – and this year is no different.

Team Love have really outdone themselves with the hottest line up to date, boasting some of the biggest names from the main festival circuit. Saturday sees Swedish electro pop band Little Dragon take over the main stage for what is sure to be a high energy upbeat set. Joining the line up is house mastermind and local Welshman, Jamie Jones along with the incredibly talented producer and multi instrumentalist Mura Masa plus Bristol locals Dismantle and DJ Die.

Sunday sees Fat Freddy’s Drop bring their completely unique sound of soul, jazz, dub and house. With a stellar collection of albums behind them, their live sets are definitely not to be missed. Grime legend Kano, lyrical goddess Kate Tempest and jazzy hip hop quartet Badbadnotgood are also on the bill.

For fans of 140 the Brouhaha stage ran by Hold Tight and powered by the mighty Lionpulse sound system will be packing a bassy punch with the likes of VIVEK, Egoless and Sherwood and Pinch gracing the decks.

With just two weeks to go, it’s time to dig out your glitter, dust off your headdresses and get those dancing shoes on because there’s nothing quite like a city festival to get you feeling those much needed summery vibes. In the meantime, check out Fat Freddy’s Drop’s ’10 Feet Tall’ below.
