MØ’s resume is becoming extremely impressive. Not content with racking up the most streamed single in history with Major Lazer and DJ Snake for ‘Lean On’, in 2016 the Danish star has released ‘Cold Water’, a collaboration with a certain Justin Bieber, as well as bothering the charts with her own smash hits ‘Kamikaze’ and ‘Final Song’.
In Karen Marie Ørsted’s recent Bristol Live Magazine cover feature, she said: “I try to involve myself in everything from the fashion and visuals to the music, so everything goes along hand in hand. At the same time you also have to be realistic, you can’t do everything yourself all the time,” she explains. “I think as long as you have some good people to work with, then it’s just about letting them know all your inspirations and what you vibe on, then working on creating the best and most cohesive output possible. I try to stay as authentic as I can be, but part of that process means experimenting.”
After a massive summer of festivals, crowned by huge sets at Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival, MØ comes to SWX this week (20th October) for a set that’s sure to be the last up-close look you’ll get at the soon-to-be-megastar.
