The Motion complex in Bristol has today announced its continued expansion into live music with new venue, The Marble Factory.

Michael Jones of the Southwest-based MJR Group, who are partnering with Motion on the project, said:

“It’s a really special venue with a completely unique atmosphere… Bristol is thriving at the moment and hopefully working with Motion we can add even more to it.”

There are even already a smattering of shows lined up for the autumn season, with those announced already including The Damned, Alabama 3 and the inaugural Bristol Ska & Mod Festival.

The new 550 capacity room also hopes to present comedy, theatre, cinema and exhibitions  in addition to the huge club events that Motion is already known and loved for.

When combining the new space with the rest of the complex, all located near Temple Meads Station, events will be able to scale up to an Academy-topping total capacity of 2,500. This will undoubtedly be a boon to both punters and organisers alike, as Bristol reaps to benefits of seeing more diverse events in this corner of the city — like this year’s runaway success, Temples Festival.

You can now connect with the new venue online via Facebook and Twitter.

This year’s Temples Festival became a focal point in more diverse uses of the complex:
