Nonkeen have unveiled the new video for ‘Chasing God through Palmyra’, the first track to be released from their debut album ‘The Gamble’. Eight years in the making and now finally set for release on February 5th ‘The Gamble’ is a life-long friendship finally tracked and pressed.
The collective is made up of childhood friends Nils Frahm, Frederic Gmeiner and Sebastian Singwald, who found each other in primary school in the last years of the Berlin wall. Brought together by their love of music and the technology surrounding it, the trio created their own radio show and after the reunification of Germany spent many childhood summers playing as a band at a fairground owned by Singwald’s uncle.
However, in 1997 they parted ways after an accident at the fairground cut their performance short. It would not be until they reached their early twenties that the three would reunite and pick up where they left off.
Now in less than two months what began as three friends experimenting with four-track tape recorders is now a fully-fledged release full of hypnotizing soundscapes. We can’t wait to get our hands on it!
