Ringo Deathstarr ‘Pure Mood’ | Album Review

‘Pure Mood’ is a very particular kind of album, where the initial encounter leaves behind it nothing but a trail of white noise and a half-hearted nod of approval. Early impressions of Ringo pointed to a band that hadn’t learnt their lesson; still encumbered with the need to repeat the era they revere rather than reinventing it. Thankfully, ‘Pure Mood’ takes real time and appreciation, before slowly blossoming into its true form.

The absence of definition fades away and, with each listen, the cavernous vocals and cascading mountains of sound that once bled into each other become vignettes that feed into a bigger picture, transforming the enjoyably forgettable into the unforgettably enjoyable.
