She Makes War aka Laura Kidd aka Bristol’s favourite gloom-popper knows that you’re still feeling rough after the weekend and deserve a present to cheer you up. This gift is one that you’ll love I’m sure – a new song and video ‘Drown Me Out’, which comes from her third album Direction of Travel.
The video, tying in with the title, is full of nautical images including little paper boats and an anchor. Keen-eyed watchers may notice some bits of Bristol behind Laura, like The Old Bookshop’s very nautical outside area and the Harbourside. Oh and did I mention the awesome shots of Laura dancing with flares? Because that bit’s great as well.
The album will be released to download on the 8th of April and will be available in physical format on the 29th April. To celebrate it’s release, She Makes War is throwing an album launch party at Thekla on March 26th, so make sure you get down. Grab your tickets here.
