Something Anorak ‘Ageist’ | EP Review

Something Anorak’s newest EP ‘Ageist’ is a very special collection of songs; one that evolves from its paranoid beginnings into a warm embrace that waves goodbye until you’re but a speck on the horizon.

Delightfully crooked and embodied with a heart-wrenching, early 90s aesthetic, ‘Ageist’ feels like it’s laying its life on the line. Initially swept up in a confident stride, Chris Barrett’s falsetto begins to shake and teeter, seemingly, on the edge of tears, with each song a more candid exposé that’s equal parts joyful and tragic.

The end product is an incredibly endearing, yet bittersweet journey; and one that anyone can appreciate.
