26th October | Thekla

After releasing the nostalgic anthem on everyone’s lips throughout the warmer months this year – aptly named ‘The Summer’ – post-punk four-piece Spring King are dropping by to whip up a storm at Thekla this month, as part of their mammoth autumn tour spanning the UK and US.

A rough-edged gem in the slurry of awesome music spilling out of Manchester this year, the band’s debut album Tell Me If You Like To didn’t disappoint, offering up energetic riffs, compelling lyrics, and a subtle Beach Boys tinge that went down a treat during their string of festival appearances over the summer. With a refreshing line-up that includes vocalist Tarek Musa singing his heart out whilst also going to town on the drums, it’s not just their setup they do differently, but their raw, interesting take on indie is enthralling in a way you haven’t experienced in a while.

Young, ambitious, and joined on tour by the equally talented Kent boys Get Inuit, one of Bristol’s most-loved venues will truly be showcasing the most exciting emerging talent on the scene today this Wednesday night. It really would be a shame to miss it.

Listen to ‘The Summer’ below. The show is sold out.
