The Jesus and Mary Chain | Preview

Every so often a band with a definitive history will make their way through Bristol. Now with their recent return to the stage, The Jesus and Mary Chain are coming to the Academy this February; to perform in its entirety, the flawless debut album ‘Psychocandy’.

With its serene and dreamy vocal lines coupled with perfect amounts of feedback, the record undoubtedly shaped the way in which the shoegaze scene played out. The band are a landmark within their genre and will forever be valued as alternative heroes of the era. Tracks such as ‘Just Like Honey’ will be sure to wash a special feeling amongst the venue, after-all, the song for many has become the focal point of iconic films such as ‘Lost In Translation’.

This show is nothing less than a sheer privilege for music fans of Bristol, certainly a great way to get the touring season back into full swing.
