Darlings of the post-punk scene Throwing Muses have been releasing music on and off for the better part of thirty years. Notable for being the first American act in the 4AD catalogue, their sometimes unsettling, oft-surreal, and extremely candid lyrical portraits of mental illness and relationships have proved necessary and innovative to a generation of musicians since.
This September, the band will tour the UK with a date at Bristol’s Trinity for the 23rd. Support will be from ex-Throwing Muses founder Tanya Donnelly, now solo artist and frequent special guest at live shows. Flying beneath the radar for some time now, this event is certainly going to one of those gems unearthed amidst the gig listings.
