Foxygen in case you didn’t know, are the masters of sweeping avant garde psych pop. Yet before this, Sam France (vocals), Jonathan Rano (guitar, keyboards) formed their band in 2005 in Westlake Village, California while they were fifteen in high school. It took seven years before they released their first album ‘Take The Kids Off Broadway’ while between 2007 and 2011 they released their own EP’s. Early 2011 they handed producer Richard Swift their EP ‘Take The Kids Off Broadway’ which was released by Jagjaguwar Records in 2012 and they are still signed with the record company now.

In January 2013 the group made an even bigger splash with sophomore album ‘We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic’ which featured big hit ‘San Francisco’, and the morbidly funky ‘Shuggie’. As for the live shows, they are known to be unpredictable. Frances behaviour has been varied, once hitting himself with a mic, and climbing stage equipment. Expect to hear their latest single ’24 Hour Lover Man’ and most likely more brand new material previewed at the gig. They must be pretty good if they were named one of the thirty must see acts at SXSW in 2013 by Fuse TV, and to quote the band: ‘How Can You Really’ not go?
